A scientific visit from the Department of Applied Sciences to the corridors of the Central Library
As part of the activities of the Central Library, on Tuesday, 26/11/2024, it received students and professors of the Department of Applied Sciences - Chemistry Branch (first stage) on a scientific visit to the Central Library with the department professors: (Prof. Dr. Khalida Farhan Suhail, Dr. Thamer Adnan Abdullah).
The visit aims to introduce students to the Central Library, its working mechanism, and how to benefit from the services provided by the library to students.
Due to the great role that the Central Library provides in all scientific sources, the method of obtaining sources was explained according to the modern systems available in the library and according to the contexts followed for borrowing and returning sources.

The Central Library honors the winners and participants in the first cultural festival for the academic year 2024-2025
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, the Director of the Central Library and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival (Assistant Professor Ziad Qasim Habib) honored the first three winners and participants in the competition with a letter of thanks and appreciation and awarded certificates of appreciation to the winners, namely: the winner of the first place: Hiba Ammar Hussein Muhammad from the Department of Applied Sciences - the third stage for the book The Joy of Being Twenty, the winner of the second place, Narjes Ali Taher Hussein from the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering - the first stage for the book Magdolin, and the winner of the third place: Malak Ali Maktouf Taher from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering - the third stage for the book Artificial Intelligence.
The Central Library holds the first cultural festival for the academic year 2024-2025
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, the Central Library at the University of Technology held the first cultural festival for the academic year 2024-2025 dedicated to reading in the halls of the Central Library (Cultural Forum Hall).
The participation was wide for the competing students from various departments of the university, which numbered (72) through the participation of each student with one book in which he competed with the rest of the participants, and the books dealt with many scientific, cultural, novelistic and fictional topics, which won the admiration of the attendees.
The competition ended with the participating students voting for the top 3 winners in terms of distinguished recitation, namely: the first place winner: Hiba Ammar Hussein Muhammad from the Department of Applied Sciences - Third Stage for the book The Joy of Being Twenty, the second place winner: Narjes Ali Taher Hussein from the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering - First Stage for the book Magdolin, and the third place winner: Malak Ali Maktouf Taher from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering - Third Stage for the book Artificial Intelligence.
The attendees expressed their joy at the distinguished organization of the Central Library staff under the supervision of the Director of the Central Library and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee (Assistant Professor Ziad Qasim Habib) and the committee members: (Assis.Lecturer Rand Zuhair Khalil), (Kalthoum Juma Ali), (Janan Muhammad Aliwi).
It is worth noting that the library allocated valuable cash prizes for the first three winners, certificates of appreciation, and a letter of thanks and appreciation distributed by the Director of the Central Library.
